"Nothing is out of range,
just change the lens."

- Parth Joshi

Hey!!

I am Parth Joshi. I grew up in the calm and serene city of Pune. Growing up, I got introduced to nature early in my school days that spurred a deep adoration for the outdoors and it’s been a huge part of my life since, as long as I can remember. Being a wildlife instructor, campfires, catching snakes, trails, dirt, community, and the calm of nature… that’s the stuff. During my schooling days my mind often wandered outside the classroom. I longed to go out in the forest and I always used to be waiting for the holidays. I realised early that being an engineer or a doctor is not my cup of tea.  I went to the esteemed Fergusson College to pursue graduation in Environmental Sciences. This course helped me to connect back to my liking.  After completing the bachelor’s degree, I joined the Masters course in Biodiversity in Garware College. Thereafter, working with Thermax gave me an insight on how the industry works. I enjoyed working for a year in Thermax and then moved on to Taal Inc, a company that provided drumming solutions (you will soon know my association with drums in the later segment). That’s where I learnt how to manage the company chores, back end office and business development. I taught at Bharati Vidyapeeth, Environmental Science Department for a year after that.

Passion to profession....

I got to using a camera right from my “Wildlife” days. Those were the days when I spent half the year in the beautiful Indian forests, photographing tiny insects, beautiful birds and the mighty tigers! One unexpected day, a friend trusted me with his wedding shoot and that pushed me into this amazing world of commercial photography! I was supported by Rohan with his equal zeal for photography and we started Pixelscape Mediaworks. I believe that photography opened up an avenue that helps me put a frame to anything! Literally! If you had asked me 10 years ago if I would be travelling and photographing for a living, I wouldn’t have been so sure! But here I am with an experience of running a photography business for the past 10 years.

Pixelscape mediaworks

Pixelscape Mediaworks is a brain child of Rohan and I. Rohan is my batchmate and we share common interests and values. We both come from humble family backgrounds and we love working as underdogs. Our work has often roared for us. We believe in building meaningful relations with our associations. We have an innate love for working with brands in their growth spurts as we grow along together. Rohan is a super geek with a superb hand on the camera and also a wide range of softwares. I have the business brain which helps me in business development using a huge network that I am connected to. We love working on wedding shoots. We realised that we are not just clicking the couple’s moments but we are immortalizing them. We have always been very choosy about the kind of wedding clients we work with. We first develop a good friendship and only then take up the wedding. And then we are just like the couple’s friends clicking the wedding. With time we ventured out to industrial work too. We work with interior designers and architects for their site shoots. We work with restaurants for food photography. Jewelry Photography is our forte. We love working with fashion designers as well.

Family first !

Rujuta and I met when we were working together as Instructors for an eco tourism company. Our story brewed in Hotel Roopali sipping on “light coffee with extra sugar” Apart from our common love for travel, our interests are poles apart! Rujuta is a German language tutor and conducts classes for school level as well as trains students and corporates for certificate courses. She also works as a freelance translator and interpreter for German language.

Percussions, my weak point.

I started learning Tabla at a very young age and had developed a liking for indian classical music even before that. One of the concerts I saw Ustad Taufiq Qureshi perform a Djembe recital which blew my mind off. Then onwards I kept pursuing Taufiqbhai till he accepted me as his student. Its been an honor to learn from the great Maestro. I performed with various artists in few of the prestigious music festivals like the Dumru Festival. Djembe has helped me broaden my thoughts and my circles many fold!
